Southwest Chili Burger

Seems like lately all my dinners have been created on the fly, meaning I get home and figure out what ingredients I have to work with and create a dish.  Hence tonight's dinner...delicious!

Serves 2-4

Burger:
1 lb. ground beef (7% fat)
1/2 Tablespoon Chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt & Pepper, to taste
4 oz. can diced green chilis
Shredded four cheese
Avocado, sliced
Romaine lettuce
Olive oil, for frying burgers

Sauce:
1/4 cup mayo
1 Tablespoon ketchup
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1. Mix together the beef, chili powder, cumin, salt & pepper in bowl. Shape into 4 patties.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the sauce ingredients and set aside.
3. Add olive oil to a large saucepan and heat on medium-high heat. Add the burgers and cook for 4-5 minutes (for medium), flip and then add the green chilis and cheese on top.  Cover saucepan with lid and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
4. Serve burgers on top of lettuce, add avocado slices and then top burger with the sauce.

I served a cucumber salad along with the burgers.
