Sloppy Joe's

When cleaning out a ton of cooking/recipe magazines today, I came across this recipe.  It was delicious but the only down fall was my yeast rolls didn't rise properly but I still made them work.

Serves 4-6

1 lb. ground beef (I used 93% lean/7% fat)
2 Tablespoons butter, unsalted
1 onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
salt & black pepper
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 Teaspoon cumin powder
2 Tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup dry red wine
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1, 14 oz. can tomato sauce
4-6 rolls (I used some Parker House yeast rolls that I had in the freezer)

1. Heat butter on medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic then saute for 4-5 minutes until they start to turn brown.
2. Add carrots, celery and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and continue to saute for 5 minutes or until they are soft.
3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 6 minutes.
4. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, chili powder and cumin powder and cook for 2 minutes.
5. Add worcestershire sauce, red wine, brown sugar and tomato sauce. Cook on high heat until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
6. Scoop some meat onto the roll, sprinkle with salt (if needed) and serve.
