Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce
So I had some ground beef that I needed to cook or freeze tonight so decided to make a comfort meal, spaghetti w/ meat sauce. Good thing I'm working out at 6am tomorrow. This dish is super easy and takes under 1 hour from start to finish!
Serves 4
Olive oil
1 lb. ground beef (93/7)
1/2 brown onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, diced
sweet peppers, diced
1/2 red onion, chopped
Portabello (or button) mushrooms, chopped
salt & pepper, to taste
Italian seasoning, to taste
28 oz. can diced tomatoes
8 oz. can tomato sauce
6 oz. can tomato paste
1/4 cup red wine
1 lb. Angel Hair pasta
Shredded Parmesan cheese
1. Add olive oil to a saucepan and add ground beef, onion, celery, sweet peppers, mushrooms, red onion, salt & pepper and italian seasoning and cook until beef has browned.
2. Drain liquid off and diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste and red wine. Continue to cook until liquid has reduced, about 20-30 minutes.
3. Meanwhile cook angel hair pasta according to the directions on the box, drain pasta and serve with meat sauce.
4. Add shredded parmesan cheese and serve.
